Tesla Model S: Well Water Mineral Etching
Suburban environments utilizing private well systems for irrigation pose a massive chemical threat to modern, eco-friendly automotive paints. This Tesla Model S in the Middlesex Road corridor of Darien presented with severe calcium carbonate etchingβcommonly known as hard water spotsβresulting from repeated exposure to the property's automated sprinkler system. When these mineral-heavy water droplets are baked by the summer sun, they physically etch into the clear coat, creating permanent craters.
To rectify this, our mobile technicians applied a highly concentrated, acid-based mineral descaling gel to safely break down the calcium lattice without mechanical abrasion. After neutralizing the surface, a finishing polish restored the optical clarity of the factory finish. To defend against future subterranean mineral pollutants, we applied our Liquid Luxury 10H ceramic coating, creating an ultra-slick, hydrophobic surface tension that prevents hard water from anchoring to the vehicle's bodywork.
